WEST VILLAGE LOFT

NEW YORK, NY

Recent empty nesters, the owners of this classic loft sought to refresh and refine their home for their next life chapter. Nestled in the West Village and steps from the Hudson River, calming blue hues were utilized throughout to reference the open sky and water. Initially lined with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, the long entry hall was reworked to create a dramatic extended foyer that sets the tone for the entire home. Complete with hidden storage, a custom seating nook, and stunning hand-painted ombre walls, this space utilizes a structural archway to both define the room and frame a view of the kitchen. The open plan kitchen, dining and living areas seamlessly blend together, creating a versatile environment great for entertaining and relaxation. The primary bedroom underwent a subtle yet impactful update, with new furniture and decorative lighting. The ensuite primary bathroom was fitted with a translucent fluted glass door to capture sunlight streaming in from the bedroom windows. Bright, reflective, and elegant finishes paired with ample lighting brighten up this internal bathroom. In the combined family room/ home office, a custom wrap-around white oak shelving unit anchors the room and provides an integrated desk and storage.
